 Ingredion is hiring a Senior Process Safety Manager to provide expertise and drive process safety improvement globally. The Corporate Environment, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) team is focused on providing the business with systems, processes and competencies to achieve world class performance and compliance with our EHS&S Management System Principles.

 As Senior Manager Process Safety, your responsibilities will include:

  • Functional leadership to drive development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans targeted at improving overall company Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Provision of subject matter expertise, principally in process safety issues, on a global basis to support regional businesses and facilities.
  • Chairing our key Dry Thermal Process Committee & Hazard & Operability Studies and participation in EHS&S Management System audits.
  • Building great talent in the organization through training and coaching of key personnel in PSM


The Senior Manager Process Safety position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Drive company-wide delivery of plans to develop, implement and support strategy in PSM
  • Inspire bold innovation through support of technical evaluation and improvement in plant processes with respect to PSM through detailed knowledge of Company Engineering and EHS&S Standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Create competitive edge by providing clear and concise direction to Regional Safety Managers, Site Managers, Site Safety Managers & Engineers regarding PSM safety standards and guidelines.
  • Identify, develop and deliver appropriate PSM related training, tool kits and documentation, promoting a culture of continuous learning and personnel development globally by identifying skills gaps and recommending learning / experience gaining opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Benchmark external safety programs and performance.


Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or Process Safety
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a plant and/or corporate environment within a process or chemical industry handling hazardous materials
  • Experience in plant project / process engineering or maintenance functions
  • Experience in a multi-site role and / or international experience
  • Possesses depth and breadth of relevant functional capabilities (eg PSM & Hazard Study Leadership)
  • Recognized leader in the HSS field with at least 5 years relevant experience of management of process safety (eg through job role & experience of Safety Engineer Certification etc)
  • Continuous Improvement skills, such as Lean Six Sigma, a benefit
  • Domestic & International Travel for approx. 25% of job time

Established Chicago based environmental, health and safety (EHS) consulting firm seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety Technician/Consultant.


Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Developing EHS program, policies and procedures
  • Developing and delivering of various OSHA & EPA compliance training
  • Conducting inspections and audits of both general industry and construction worksites and providing audit reports
  • Developing lockout/tagout procedures for various manufacturing and building operation equipment
  • Performing confined space inventory assessments
  • Performing hoist and sling safety inspections
  • Performing industrial hygiene air and noise sampling

Under the mentorship of a high-qualified environmental health and safety and corporate social responsibility professional work to construct a practical first-look at the cross-section between the IoT and sustainability reporting.

Interface with various internal and external stakeholders to understand how these metrics are currently being collected and reported, and devise a technical solution to automated data collection, analytics, and graphical reporting.

Output a version of working data collection automation, analytics, reporting for utility usage.  Scope of work can be defined based upon initial investigation and feasibility study in conjunction with mentor.

Work with various internal stakeholders and facilities to determine the completeness of MSDS (material safety data sheets) by facility and update database to ensure all reporting is accurate.

CED-DG incorporates high explosives and propellants into small explosive devices.  The processes are highly hazardous and require strong safety systems.  The H&S Specialist manages the programs that ensure a safe work environment for all employees and compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements.



  1. Establish and strengthen health, safety and industrial/occupational hygiene compliance programs, promoting world class, state-of-the-art safe and healthful work practices for the protection of personnel, physical assets, and production operations.
  2. Perform hazard assessments of the energetic material and facility operations for the safety, fire and health hazards they present.
  3. Routinely examine operations to recognize and evaluate occupational exposure to chemical and physical agents and ergonomic risks.
  4. Apply strategies to identify and quantify hazards, develop practical methods or programs to eliminate or control identified hazards, and coordinate implementation of engineering and administrative controls to reduce hazards/risk and limit occupational exposure in the workplace.
  5. Oversee implementation and on-going performance of Process Safety Management (PSM) Program, and provide technical support, coaching and guidance to operations and engineering staff on PSM elements, including but not limited to PHA, MOC, PSSR, etc.
  6. Perform training needs assessments and gap analyses based on specific job tasks, duties and roles with respect to hazards and requirements. Provide guidance to develop applicable performance and competency standards for specific jobs and roles with respect to health and safety requirements. Design, coordinate and delivery H&S specific training to meet needs assessments, job analyses and company/regulatory requirements.
  7. Develop workplace inspection, audit and assurance program to monitor and report on  compliance and behavior expectations for company and regulatory health and safety programs and requirements.
  8. Familiar with and proficient in leading incident investigations to include, gathering and preserving evidence, reviewing documentation and records, conducting interviews, directing the investigation team, developing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and generating final reports. Should also be proficient in applying multiple methodologies and approaches to determine incident causes including but not limited to What if, 5-Whys, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Black Box, Bow Tie, Fault Tree, Event Tree, Systematic Cause Analysis, etc.
  9. Prepare, revise and update health and safety policies and procedures to meet changes in the organization, operations, processes and regulations.
  10. Effectively communicate, advise, guide and coach all levels of the organization on health and safety verbally and in writing.
  11. Interpret, implement and verify compliance to all applicable OSHA requirements, with specific emphasis on Electrical Safety, Hot Work, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protection, Walking and Working Surfaces, Emergencies and Fire Protection, Forklift and Material Handling Safety, Noise Exposure, Toxic/Hazardous Materials and Compressed Gases, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene, and Process Safety Management. Assist with interpretation and application of other regulatory requirements as needed or requested, such as NFPA, EPA, DOT, DOE, ATF, and DoD directives (particularly DoD 4145) and applicable state and local H&S requirements.
  12. Assist with preparation of health and safety related reports, data, metrics and other information required by the company, regulatory agencies or other governmental or customer requests.



  1. Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
  1. Applicant must be permanent resident of the United States, allowed to work and travel in the United States.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Environmental, Safety Engineering, Environmental Management, Physical Sciences, Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or appropriate and related technical field.
  3. 5-7 years of experience, with 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment; energetic or explosives experience desired.
  4. Preferred experience managing hazards with explosives and energetic materials
  5. Professional certifications are a plus, such as ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, etc.
  6. Effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written
